Yes.
Every project differs based on terrain, vegetation quality and quantity, water and vehicle accessibility etc. We also have price breaks above 10 and 50 acres. Typical costs can range from $900 – $1,500 per acre.
They don’t eat wood or sticks or branches, however they will eat most flashy fire fuel. Include current photos of the vegetation in your email to us to be sure.
We bring all our own portable fencing, no worries. Ideally we would use your on-site water if available. If there is no water on site or nearby, we can guide you through the simple process of having a ‘construction meter’ installed at the nearest fire hydrant, where we will fill the tanks on our trucks. The herd uses about $1 worth of water per day.
Yes, the herd will remain contained in the portable fencing until the project is complete. A shepherd will remain on-site in his mobile housing unit as well.
250 goats and sheep will eat ~1 acre per day. If we bring 500 animals… ~2 acres per day! (Depending on quality and quantity of vegetation).
Call/email us, and sign a proposal to get put on the calender. Reach out early in the year, we book up fast. Send in the transportation deposit to lock in your dates. We try to book at least 45 days ahead but can sometimes accommodate less lead time depending on the time of year. Some clients book us multiple years in a row. People often start calling in January for the following fire season!
